Quiet but also challenging hiking opportunities in the Lungau Holiday Region, interesting discovery tours with open-air experiences attract both adults and children to the region. The hiking trails extend at all altitudes. Hikers can take a deep breath of fresh mountain air at altitudes between 1000 and 2400 meters in the south of the SalzburgerLand, and simply leave everyday life behind.

• Pleasure-oriented hikers

  are on the move in the valley – for example along the Mur – or enjoy the wide views of the Salzburg Alpine landscape on moderately ascending and descending high altitude paths. They enjoy using energy-saving mountain railways and the valley buses.

• Adventure hikers

  prefer theme trails (e.g. the Hiking Trail of the Senses in St. Michael or the Ramingstein Ore Trails), nature trails (e.g. the Bird Trail in St. Michael or the Prebersee Moorland Nature Trail) or cultural trails (e.g. the famous Arno Trail) or trekking tours with luggage transport.

• Peak climbers

  can face numerous challenges between Katschberg and Obertauern and enjoy alpine panoramas and magnificent views up to the Großglockner at altitudes of up to about 2400 metres.

• Guided mountain flower hiking week (26.06. to 08.07.2022)

  The hiking guide will take you to the most beautiful flower meadows in the Lungau. Let us surprise you with the diversity of our meadows.

  Enjoy the clean air and the uniqueness of the beautiful flowers. Due to the cool climate and the altitude, the Lungau offers a special flora.

  • 5x guided hikes to the most beautiful mountain lakes/flower meadows per week, accompanied by an experienced hiking guide and hobby botanist
  • Slide show and information evening each Sunday at 20.00 hrs
  • Hiking bus and hiking guide

  One of the great attractions and at the same time treasures of the region are the almost 60 mountain lakes in Lungau. Many of the picturesque lakes lie hidden between rugged cliffs or in lovely, gentle meadows and valleys. Look forward to the magic of these unique lakes.
